THE BRIEF

One thing I love about football is the emotion and passion of the fans. Witnessing the full range of emotions over the course of 90 minutes is extraordinary. It is fascinating how a single match can influence a person's mood for the next few hours, days, or even weeks.
 

Ramsbottom United is a lower-league club where the majority of supporters are local to the area. The club is supported by dedicated volunteers on matchdays, plays in a ground with a capacity of fewer than 2,000, and has a loyal fanbase that turns out every week to support the team. I was tasked with capturing the raw emotion of these supporters, showcasing the variety of ages and backgrounds that make up the community. Capturing such a broad spectrum of emotion is challenging, but football provides the perfect environment to document the highs and lows that fans experience throughout a match.
